I created a voice thread asking for suggestions of how to set up my classroom this coming school year. My goal is create a 21st century classroom environment where collaboration can take place at any time, but also where my students have some free space. This is tough, considering I have 26 fifth graders, who sprout into big fifth graders by January/February each year. I created this thread using Microsoft PowerPoint for my images, but VoiceThread.com for the rest. Enjoy, and I am excited to get some feedback on VoiceThread.
Here is the link to my voice thread:

Hi Chris,
ReplyDeleteI made 2 comments on your voice thread but I am unsure if they saved! I clicked saved but when I listen to the voice thread again and couldn't find my comments. Can you please let me know if you can hear and see them? Thanks!
Stacey,
ReplyDeleteFrom what I can tell, your comments worked. On my third slide you have a voice over, and on the fourth slide is a few "drawings" you made to circle some groupings and written comments. Thanks for partaking.
Chris
What a great idea! I'll have to borrow your idea of using VoiceThread to share a classroom floor plan with everyone. What software did you use? I've done the same using PowerPoint which allows me to add names to each desk on the floor plan. It's a good way to print out copies for the sub if needed.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog and VoiceThread!
Richard,
ReplyDeleteI used PowerPoint to create all of my images. Withing PowerPoint you group all of your "items" and then save the entire image as a picture (jpg). I was then able to upload my images to VoiceThread.
For seating arrangements I also use Smart Notebook Software, which works alongside my SmartBoard. Same idea, different software.
Thanks for the positive feedback.
Chris
